"I had several decisions on where to go for my first fish collection trip out of the country. My reason for choosing Uruguay was due to the fact that friends and acquaintances unanimously recommended going to Uruguay. I NOW KNOW WHY. This trip was AMAZING!!! The food, the adventure, the friendly people, the fish (beautiful fish). Everything thing about it justifies every penny spent. This trip was by no means a vacation, we had to work to keep all the fish alive and the bugs can and do bite, but it's such an adrenaline rush just waiting to see what's going tohappen next.

I will have to say Felipe and his family are extremely hospitable. His wife Helen is a great cook. She even got me to eat beef and I don't eat red meat. Felipe's two kids will provide many laughs and entertainment while you're bagging fish. Pedro, the driver, is funny even when not trying to be. I plan on going back to Uruguay as soon as possible. This trip has provided me very fond memories and I can't wait to go back.

BTW, Felipe is probably the best tour guide and fish collector in South America. We were literally fishing in an area for hours with no luck, only for Felipe to come in and snag the target fish as soon as he drops his line."
