"Uruguay was a fantastic experience, from its scenic beauty of open ranges, mile high skies to its little hideaway oasis where you say to your self "Man, I wish I had a chick here".
Felipe Cantera and his knowledgeable crew are proof that Uruguayan hospitality shows no boundaries. The lodging accommodations really make you feel at home, especially the drinking fountain right beside the "facilities". Our professional driver made us feel safe in are travels and I don’t think I could have done the things that he does. The cuisine in Uruguay is unbelievable! I didn’t have the same thing twice. The pastries, salads are great accompanies to the Uruguayan BBQ of Beef, Lamb and Chorizo Sausage. Then when you think you’re done they come out with extraordinary deserts. Really the only Spanish words you need to know is tap out and say "no mas". Felipe’s guarantee of gaining dos kilos (4.4lbs) was a lie, I gained Quatro kilos.
The fish and wildlife of Uruguay are incredible! Felipe "GPS" Canterra new exactly where and how to catch target species. You have the leisurely choice of the hands on experience with seines, trap, scoop or cast nets, rod and reel fishing or sunning yourself with your camera on the banks. Never worry about not catching fish, you will not know what to do with them all. Along with the fish you will more than likely run into Tarantellas, Armadillos, Rheas and multiple varieties of Birds, Turtles and Frogs. One of the highlights of the trip was the bus coming to a sudden stop, the doors spring open and Pablo and Felipe jumping on a snake they want to collect. Beware of Pablo, he likes snakes and he’s a drummer.
I would like to personally thank Pablo, Alvaro, Alejandro (Habib), Ana, Helen, Corina and Felipe for their outstanding hospitality and making the trip to Uruguay unforgettable."
