"I travelled to Uruguay in December 2009 on a fish collecting trip organized by Ken Davis.  Felipe was our host and guide for the trip and what an incredible trip!  Felipe’s knowledge of the country, the fishes and his professional abilities to plan and execute a 12 day road trip with a challenging group of nine is most impressive.  We all had a great time.

The fishes of Uruguay are unique and diverse.  My interest was in the Cichlids, Catfish and Livebearers.  My expectations were blown away by the variety and our ability to easily collect all the target fish plus many more.  Alejandro also travelled with us and his wealth of knowledge and skills in locating many species was quite amazing.  All the fish made it home and are thriving.

Uruguay is a fascinating country and I expect to travel again to Uruguay to collect fish and do some birding and herping with many of my Canadian friends. "
